Hi everyone! If you are considering lipedema liposuction, have you ever wondered where the small incisions are placed? I made a drawing to help clarify this. Each patient has a different fat distribution and lipedema involvement, so the location of the incisions will vary. We follow a rule to prioritize areas that offer the best field of vision and ease of fat extraction. So, if we are talking to a patient lying face down, in the back of the buttocks, we usually position incisions in this area, occasionally in this area, a bit above the knee. I like to make an incision here in this area, and here in the calf, depending on the distribution, to allow us to access both the fat in the middle of the calf and the lateral fat and the calf, and here to access the knee fat as well. This incision here can be moved a bit lower, which generally allows us to work well on the buttocks in this region.
