☀️Think of a silent disease that has increased greatly in our society. Yes, we need to talk about suicide!! There are many MYTHS surrounding this. The first one is that talking about suicide induces people to kill themselves. And that is why Yellow September was created, to bring knowledge to people.

☀️A person at risk of suicide does not have a specific look or type. They are not always sad, frowning, friendless, or alone. They do not only wear black clothes and listen to melancholic music. They do not always have diagnosed depression. They may even try to live in a positive way to show strength. Until it happens.

☀️The most appropriate professionals to care for people with depression or suicide risk are #psiquiatras and #psicologos, which does not mean that the whole society should not care about this. With actions, or a welcoming word, even from a layperson, which is the role of @cvvoficial 🏷. The person may not have the courage to open up to someone close due to fear of judgment or even of seeking a professional. But it may be enough for someone to bring the message that: it will get better!

☀️Often, what the person with suicidal behavior wants is not objectively to “end their life,” which seems absurd when spoken aloud, but to put an end to a suffering they do not know how to resolve, wanting that pain to stop in any way.

☀️Pay attention to the people around you, those who threaten to take their own life may actually carry it out at some point. And these attempts can come in subtle forms, such as substance abuse (legal or illegal). So pay close attention, empathy, and love always 🙏🏻🥰
