The case of Andrea Ivanova went viral on the internet. (1/3)

The case of Andrea Ivanova (not the one in the photo) went viral on the internet after she underwent her twentieth lip filler procedure, resulting in a bizarre appearance.
.
But what if, in her mind, it looks wonderful?
.
This is not a new issue; exaggerated fillers have been the target of memes for some time, and the comparison to a sausage is inevitable.
.
Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) is a psychological disorder that applies to various situations. There is even a chapter in the literature that contributes to the discussion on this topic.
.
Excessive concern over minor flaws, causing suffering beyond what is expected, or obsessively wanting to emphasize a characteristic by deviating from the norm are signs of this disorder. It is also frequently seen in anorexia, regarding muscle hypertrophy, or facial features such as the nose, lips, and skin (e.g., an obsession with skin spots).
.
Treatment for this condition involves a psychiatrist and psychologist. However, since these patients often appear in the offices of plastic surgeons, dermatologists, nutritionists, and dietitians, we must be able to suspect the disorder and refer them for treatment.
