News in the media often comes with anxiety because the information is not precise and generalizations end up being made.
Lipedema is not a “triviality” or a “trend,” therefore we, serious professionals, cannot let it become one. There are many cases of lipedema that do not require surgery.
There are cases where there is no absolute indication, but the patient chooses to undergo surgery. Let us not allow lipedema to become a “pretty excuse,” thereby invalidating the real suffering of many patients.
On the other hand, all cases, whether operated on or not, require other clinical care, diet, and exercise in their long-term treatment.
Furthermore, I cannot comment further on the specific case because I do not have all the information, but embolism is not a frequent complication of liposuction, whether body or limb.
If you would like me to talk more about the subject of embolism, I can bring other videos as well.
