More than a craft, each surgery is a delivery. And lipedema surgery is one of those that continuously captures our attention.
Many surgeries have a closing phase, involving sutures, where we finalize what is already defined. In lipedema, every movement is intentional, right up to the last “brushstroke.” The shapes gradually resolve, and we discover step by step how the tissues are responding to our movements.
At every moment, we assess what emerges: a pinch, positioning, light, pulling here and there, trying to predict how those legs lying there will move when life is happening.
And it is fascinating to see the evolution of this surgery over the years. A decade ago, most plastic surgeons worldwide would not have even heard of this procedure; today, it is increasingly grounded in science and refinement.
