Posting a photo with makeup but without filters or editing. Filters on social media are creating expectations of unattainable perfection standards, even with the many aesthetic procedures we love, and this leads to a lot of frustration, especially in adolescents and in people who are aging (all who are human and alive).

This creates a distance from offline life, where one cannot be so perfect all the time; the person wants to live in that “filter”.

It is an exercise to do, it is very easy to slide your finger to the side and have instantaneously homogeneous skin, but it is not real.

I am not saying that I will not use filters anymore, (there are times when I don’t want to scare people here lol) but I will try. I saw in @berudolph’s story that she doesn’t use filters in her stories and I thought the idea was cool, a mix of a reality shock with strengthening real self-esteem.
