It was fun creating my #avatar using the Meta Human tool (I don’t know where it’s available, it reached me through André @fonsecajjr 😁). Of course, there are attributes it doesn’t let you change, but it’s funny how each detail you keep adjusting makes it look more like who you are. But I still like the real version better lol
Video transcript
Hi, this is me — or rather, this is an avatar created with some features that we tried to adjust so it would look more like me. So we change the height of the cheeks, the shape of the nose, the projection of the chin, of the cheekbones, the shape of the face. To try to create a version that looks more like what we really are. But it’s not reality. The avatar is totally symmetrical in its proportions, one side to the other. And we’re not like that in real life — we have small differences, small details that are precisely what catches the eye. It’s what our brain looks at in someone, what makes us notice people, what makes us pay attention. But a lot of people want to turn themselves into avatars, seeking excessively symmetrical, excessively idealized features, or ones that end up being real. So no matter how much technology advances, nothing beats being just the way we are. Of course, always striving to improve, but without losing our identity.
