According to @yasminbrunet herself, she has Lipedema. I saw @dra.valquiriamonteiro’s post about this and went looking for random photos of Yasmin from before the BBB.

Looking at them, we can see that even with possibly very low body fat percentage in some photos, her ankle has a proportionally larger diameter compared to other parts of her body, with ankles, calves, and knees lacking much definition.

I am not in favor of analyzing celebrities’ bodies on Instagram. But since lipedema affects 10% of the female population, in many editions of the BBB there is a participant with lipedema, whether mild or severe.

She puts her legs up, which means she has symptoms beyond the visual aspect. And what I mean by this is: “standard” bodies, models, do not invalidate lipedema and the discomforts it can cause.

Sleep deprivation, stress, dietary changes, alcohol, without compression stockings or drainage (all present in #BBB)… none of this will help with lipedema, but it doesn’t mean she will progressively worsen just because of this period; later she adjusts and it’s all fine. Because life has phases… and BALANCE.

And the fact that she doesn’t need surgery doesn’t mean she won’t need to take care of herself always, or that she won’t suffer from the disease!!

Save and share, but don’t point at your friend’s body, because in 2024 that is not cool 🫶🏻
